YWAM Blantyre has been established in a strategic location in one of the poorest regions and we find ourselves able to bring relief to those who are in desperate situations when disasters hit the poorest and there is no other help for them. We believe that the gospel of God’s amazing love is often best demonstrated in this way. Our main focus is to help communities develop and end poverty through empowerment but when disaster strikes and local governments have no ability to help those in need Love looks like loading up the trucks and 4x4s and going out to serve. The following projects are a sample of what we have been able to launch to help the starving, flooded, homeless and desperate in their time of need
- loading maize the local staple food into our store ready for distribution
- distribution of emergency rations after malawi’s 2015 floods saw 200,000 people displaced
- rebuilding homes distroyed by the floods, like this crippled widdows home that fell.
- Food distribution inthe hunger months of January & Febuary is a lifeline for many like this orphan
- Loading a 10 ton truck in mozambique ready for distribution during zimbabwes financial crash
- our outreach & relief truck stuck in the mud trying to access an area that had not recieved any relief yet during the floods
